ClauseLock helps you keep track of subscriptions and free trials. This page explains what we store, what we never collect, and the choices you have. Questions go to support@clauselock.ca.

What we store

• Your email address, to sign you in and send reminders.
• The subscriptions you save: service name and website, price, billing period, trial and renewal dates, cancellation link, notes, and your timezone.
• Short quotes and links from pages you check with the extension, with the page address and the time you checked it.
• The changes you make to a subscription, and the reminders we scheduled and sent.
• Your connected browser extensions: a name made from the browser and system, like “Edge on Windows”, and when each was connected and last used. The connection key itself is stored only as a one-way fingerprint, and Disconnect in the extension deletes it.
• Your settings: timezone and whether reminder emails are on.
• If you join the Plus waitlist: that email address and when you joined.
• If you buy Plus: your Stripe customer and subscription IDs, the subscription’s status and its renewal date. We give Stripe your email address to set up billing. Stripe handles your card and billing details; we never see or store your card number.

What never leaves your browser

• The full text of pages you check. The extension reads a page only when you press Check this subscription, and sends only the details you confirmed and the quotes you kept.
• Passwords, card numbers, form fields and hidden text on those pages. The extension doesn’t read them.
• Terms pages the extension reads for you. They are fetched from the same site without your cookies, and only short quotes are kept.

What we don’t do

• We don’t connect to your bank, cards or email inbox.
• We don’t sell your data or use it for advertising.
• We don’t use third-party analytics or advertising trackers.

Cookies and browser storage

We use cookies only to keep you signed in. Your preferred display currency is saved in your own browser. The extension keeps its connection and any unsent draft in your browser’s extension storage.

Who processes data for us

• Supabase stores the database and handles sign-in.
• Resend sends sign-in and reminder emails.
• Stripe takes payments for ClauseLock Plus and sends its receipts and renewal emails.
• Vercel hosts the website and app.

They process data only to provide their service to us. Your data may be stored or processed outside your country, including in the United States.

How long we keep it

We keep your data until you delete it or your account. Deleting your account removes every subscription, quote, change and reminder immediately, then your sign-in. Our email provider keeps delivery logs for its own limited retention period.

Your choices

• Correct any subscription from its page.
• Download everything as a file from Settings.
• Turn off reminder emails in Settings, or with the unsubscribe link in any reminder.
• Delete your account in Settings.
• Leave the Plus waitlist by writing to support@clauselock.ca.

Security

Connections are encrypted. Only our server can read or change your records; browser sessions and the extension go through checks that tie every request to your account.

Children

ClauseLock is not intended for children under 16.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we’ll update the date above and email you before the change takes effect.
